Forest glass (Waldglas) came from the forest area of Central Europe where the necessary raw materials were within reach.
Potash from beech ash residues, eagle ferns and some iron oxide gave the forest glass its distinctive green or brown color.
The knobs and burrs on the outside of the glass provided a good grip.
The mouth-blown glasses can differ in shape and color and sometimes have air bubbles.
Our glass replicas from the 17th century come from the Czech Republic.
The glasses are made by hand and can show small color and shape nuances.
